چکیده

Production cross sections and excitation functions of neutron deficient isotopes of U, Pa and Th have been measured in the reaction of 22 N e+ 208 P b. The comparison of experimental production cross sections of uranium isotopes with the neutron number 126 ≤ N ≤ 134 to the values calculated using statistical model of nuclear deexcitation has been carried out. There is shown, that none of the commonly used methods of introduction of shell effect influence on the production cross sections of evaporations residues allows to reproduce unambigiously used set of experimental data. Simple semiempirical method of introduction of shell effect influence in fission channel is proposed and good agreement with production cross sections of neutron deficient isotopes in the region from Bi to U is reached.

New μs isomers in the neutron-rich 210Hg nucleus

Neutron-rich nuclei in the lead region, beyond N = 126, have been studied at the FRS-RISING setup at GSI, exploiting the fragmentation of a primary uranium beam. Two isomeric states have been identified in 210Hg: the 8 isomer expected from the seniority scheme in the νg9/2 shell and a second one at low spin and low excitation energy. The decay strength of the 8 isomer confirms the need of effec...

Investigation of strong force influence on behavior of nuclear energy levels in Calcium and Titanium isotopes: Based on quantum chaos theory

The atomic nucleus is a complex many-body system that consists of two types of fermion (neutron and proton). They are in the strong interaction. The statistical properties of energy levels and influence of strong force between these fermions are well described by random matrix theory. Resonance of energy levels depends on the Hamiltonian symmetry placed in one of the GOE, GUE and GSE ensembles ...

Cause of the charge radius isotope shift at the N=126 shell gap

We discuss the mechanism causing the ‘kink’ in the charge radius isotope shift at the N = 126 shell closure. The occupation of the 1i11/2 neutron orbital is the decisive factor for reproducing the experimentally observed kink. We investigate whether this orbital is occupied or not by different Skyrme effective interactions as neutrons are added above the shell closure. Our results demonstrate t...

Isomers in neutron - rich lead isotopes populated via the fragmentation of 238 U at 1 GeV A

Neutron-rich nuclei beyond N = 126 in the lead region were populated by fragmenting a U beam at 1 GeV A on a Be target and then separated by the Fragment Separator (FRS) at GSI. Their isomeric decays were observed, enabling study of the shell structure of neutron-rich nuclei around the Z=82 shell closure. Some preliminary results are reported in this paper.

Charge radius isotope shift across the N=126 shell gap.

We revisit the problem of the kink in the charge radius shift of neutron-rich even isotopes near the N=126 shell closure. We show that the ability of a Skyrme force to reproduce the isotope shift is determined by the occupation of the neutron 1i(11/2) orbital beyond N=126 and the corresponding change it causes to deeply-bound protons orbitals with a principal quantum number of 1. Given the obse...
